Jessica's 11 Things She Learned at Madera

I really like this event and want to have the Chad and some DV men there next year! This is the type of event where we all need a mom around....not that Chad is a mom...but you know what i mean.

10 things I learned about bike racing and one thing the UCSF lady thought I knew about bike racing but didn’t:

11. Olivia eats way too many gu's, or the rest of us eat way too few- we need to get to the bottom of this, Janelle can you do some research and see what Stanford Medical has to impart on this topic. STAT.

10. Starla talks in a foreign language when she sleeps and is a CAT 3 map reader. Jaysus, what a stellar performance of our Star!!

9. When you flat in 2 out of 3 events, and this is the final leg of the Madera tour 2007, while walking the sizzling roads alone as the peloton winds out of sight…you can crack yourself up just by saying: That’s how I roll.

8. Susie pedals crooked or her hips are crooked, something is crooked, and it’s distracting. I wish she would get that fixed. (Name changed to protect the crooked)

7. There is nothing better for recovery then a Madera pedicure after day 1,- um they give you calf massages, and shine up your tootsies hello....how come nobody thought of this sooner? Dolce vita baby. HOller!

6. Barfing on your handle bars does not make you faster or cooler but putting your hands in a bucket of ice for minutes at a time does.

5. When you can’t get home via 80/580 because the Bay Bridge has a hole in it, try taking 59/156/101 it’s scenic and it smells garlicky.

4. More driving fun-the 120 merge is easy to miss, who knew Sacramento was on the way to Madera? Can we say arrival time midnight? Nice.

3. Don’t ever have Olivia help you re-pin your number before a TT, the shakes this girl emits will most likely prick you repeatedly and leave you full of holes…maybe that’s more aero?

2. Speaking of TT, just because you’ve done it before doesn’t guarantee that you will not miss a turn.

1. This one is my fav---According to USCF it is not allowable to UN DNF yourself. Now you tell me.

This event was great training for me and i am very excited/proud for my team mates! That’s how we roll.xxx
